Exhibition 'Julio González. Forjar el vacío'

The Fundación Cajasol presents in the Sala Velázquez of its headquarters the exhibition Julio González. Forjar el vacío, dedicated to one of the essential pioneers of modern iron sculpture. Located in the emblematic Plaza de San Francisco, this retrospective offers a unique opportunity to get closer to the work of a key figure of 20th-century avant-gardes.

The exhibition brings together a refined selection of wrought iron sculptures, masks, reliefs, and preparatory drawings created by the Barcelona artist. The pieces reflect his innovative technique of "drawing in space" through iron welding, a groundbreaking formal language that decisively influenced creators of the stature of Pablo Picasso.
