Hiking Trail PR-A 469 along the Balsa de Melendo

The Ruta de senderismo homologada PR-A 469 por la Balsa de Melendo is an 11-kilometer natural itinerary approved by the Andalusian Mountaineering Federation that surrounds one of the large water infrastructures of the Lower Guadalquivir.

Walkers cross archaeological sites such as El Fontanal and sections of traditional rural paths while spotting continental water birds that choose the reservoir to overwinter during the cold season.

The trail is flat, accessible, and free of charge all day. It is advisable to start the route from the Camino del Fontanal area carrying binoculars and water.
