Baroque heritage in the Parroquia de San Juan Bautista

Located on the highest hill of the municipality, the Parroquia de San Juan Bautista is the most representative monumental work of Las Cabezas de San Juan. Designed in the 18th century by the Baroque architect Ambrosio de Figueroa, its airy facade and bell tower are visible from the entire region.

The temple houses a valuable artistic heritage distributed in its three naves, highlighting the Cristo de la Vera Cruz, a Baroque sculpture carved by Juan de Mesa in 1624. Likewise, its Neoclassical main altarpiece and a notable historic pipe organ stand out.

Entrance to the temple is free access. The site remains open for cultural visits from Tuesday to Sunday from 18:00 to 21:00, in addition to the religious worship schedules in the mornings.
