Cuneiform writing, papyrus and parchment workshop at the Museo de Écija
The Museo Histórico Municipal de Écija hosts a new educational proposal focused on the evolution of written communication throughout ancient history. An interactive and informative activity designed to bring the techniques of past civilizations to the current public in an enjoyable and participatory way.
During the session, attendees will learn the foundations of cuneiform writing, the use of papyrus, and the creation of parchment through practical demonstrations and direct handling of materials. It is an excellent opportunity to understand up close how events were recorded in ancient times and the relevance of the archaeological holdings preserved in the museum.
The activity is aimed especially at a family audience, with a capacity limited to 20 participants (up to 30 if minors are accompanied), so it is strongly recommended to process registration in advance to secure a spot at the palace facilities.
