Festivity and Procession of the Virgen del Valle Coronada
The patronal feast in honor of the patron saint and perpetual mayor of the city is the most deeply rooted devotional event of September. The Parroquia Mayor de Santa Cruz becomes the religious epicenter from which the venerated image of Nuestra Señora del Valle Coronada departs to travel through the streets of the historic center of Écija.
The eve is highlighted by the creation of impressive salt carpets by youth groups in the Plaza de Santa María. The solemn procession begins its route at 8:00 PM with a special itinerary that in this edition runs through the El Carmen neighborhood, being a completely free and crowded event.
To view the float in its maximum splendor, it is recommended to position yourself in advance in the main squares or at the exit of the church to witness the classic scattering of flower petals.
