Ethnographic tradition at the Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares

Located in the Pabellón Mudéjar of the Plaza de América, designed by Aníbal González for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, the Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares de Sevilla safeguards Andalusian ethnological heritage. Its imposing brick and tile facade precedes an exhibition space dedicated to highlighting the trades, traditions, and traditional daily life of the region.

The museum rooms house historical collections of Sevillian ceramics, goldsmithing, embroidery, regional costumes, and models of craft workshops from the 19th and 20th centuries. Likewise, it exhibits popular musical instruments and antique posters from fairs and celebrations that allow for an understanding of the cultural evolution of Sevilla and Andalusia.

The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 to 21:00 hours, and Sundays from 9:00 to 15:00 hours. Admission is free for accredited European Union citizens, while for visitors from other countries it has a price of 1.50€.
