Does Africa ring a bell?

Located in the Plaza de América building in the Parque de María Luisa, the Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares de Sevilla hosts this immersive exhibition on the musical richness of the African continent. Organized together with the Association for Culture and Cooperation with Africa El Gulmu, the exhibition highlights music and dance as fundamental axes of community life.

The exhibition brings together almost 300 traditional musical instruments from diverse sub-Saharan African ethnic groups, classified into their four families (chordophones, membranophones, aerophones, and idiophones). It is completed with ritual masks, audiovisual material, and an interactive area where the public can experiment with various instruments.

The general admission fee to the museum is 1,50€ (free for citizens of the European Union). Summer hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 09:00 to 15:00. It will remain available until September 30, 2026.
