Baroque splendor and Islamic footprint at the Iglesia del Salvador

The Iglesia Colegial del Divino Salvador is the second largest religious temple in the city after the Cathedral. It was built between 1679 and 1712 over the remains of the ancient 9th-century Umayyad Main Mosque, preserving part of its tower and primitive structure.

Inside, the imposing main altarpiece by Cayetano de Acosta stands out, along with images of great devotion such as the Jesús de la Pasión or the Cristo del Amor. The visit includes the Patio de los Naranjos and its musealized underground crypt.

Individual admission costs 8€ at the ticket office (7€ online purchase), and is included for free with the ticket to the Seville Cathedral. Its visiting hours are Monday to Saturday from 10:15 to 17:30 and Sundays from 14:30 to 19:00.
