Baroque splendor and Islamic footprint at the Iglesia del Salvador

The Iglesia Colegial del Salvador is the second largest Catholic temple in Seville after the Cathedral, built at the end of the 17th century on the remains of the old Mezquita Mayor of Ibn Adabbas from the Caliphate era.

Inside its monumental baroque interior, golden altarpieces of enormous artistic value made by Cayetano de Acosta stand out, as well as summit carvings of baroque processional imagery such as the Cristo del Amor by Juan de Mesa and the Jesús de la Pasión by Juan Martínez Montañés.

It will open for cultural visits from Monday to Saturday from 10:15 AM to 5:30 PM. Admission at €6 (€10 (free for residents of Seville and children under 12) or included with the joint ticket to the Seville Cathedral).
