Visit to the military fortress of Castillo de Santiago

Built at the end of the 15th century by the House of Medina Sidonia, the Castillo de Santiago is a large Gothic-Mudéjar style defensive fortress located in the Barrio Alto of Sanlúcar de Barrameda. In its famous Homage Tower, Queen Isabella the Catholic stayed when she saw the sea for the first time.

The tour allows you to visit the parade ground, the walls' ramparts, and the rooms of the Museo de las Armas and the Museo del Traje. From the top of the hexagonal tower, you can enjoy impressive panoramic views over the Guadalquivir River and the Doñana National Park.

There is a pass with a free partial visit on Mondays from 10:00 to 11:00; for other times, the general rate is 9.50€ for adults and 6€ for children aged 4 to 13. It is open Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 22:00 in summer and until 19:00 the rest of the year.
