Archaeological and viewpoint route of the Cerro del Castillo

The Cerro del Castillo constitutes the historical origin and the most relevant archaeological site of Lebrija, located at the highest point of the town. This strategic enclave offers a privileged perspective on the urban evolution of the city and its long past that spans from the Tartessian era to the medieval period.

Upon climbing to the upper area, the visitor discovers the remains of the ancient Arab fortress, the walls of historic ramparts, and several panoramic viewpoints that offer exceptional views of the Sevillian countryside and the traditional rooftops of the old town. It is an ideal walk for lovers of photography and local history in the open air.

It is recommended to make the climb early in the morning or at sunset during the month of September, wearing comfortable sneakers due to the uneven ground.
