Visit to the Parroquia de San José
Located on the busy axis of Avenida María Auxiliadora, the Parroquia de San José represents one of the most unique architectural landmarks of the 20th-century expansion of Utrera. Designed in the late 1920s and consecrated in the early 1960s, the temple stands out for its balanced portal in the Neo-Baroque and Andalusian regionalist style.
The temple has a large high nave and a luminous central dome. Inside, it houses interesting Baroque altarpieces from former confiscated convents, as well as the images of San José, the Virgen del Rosario, and various processional carvings very dear to the neighborhood's residents.
The temple remains open for visits and worship in the morning and afternoon (from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM and from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM). Admission is free, making it an excellent destination to discover religious heritage outside the traditional medieval circuit.
