Visit to the Real Fábrica de Tabacos de Sevilla

The Real Fábrica de Tabacos de Sevilla, seat of the Rectory of the University of Seville since the mid-20th century, constitutes one of the most monumental 18th-century industrial architecture buildings in Europe. Built to house the public tobacco monopoly in Spain, this colossal walled structure inspired Bizet's famous opera *Carmen* thanks to the legendary work of its famous cigarreras.

Visitors can freely access its spacious interior courtyards, such as the Patio de los Jazmines or the Patio del Reloj, contemplate the spectacular Baroque doorway crowned by the statue of Fame, and visit the facility's chapel. In addition, the institution itself organizes free guided tours on Thursdays and Fridays during morning sessions to walk through its galleries, defensive moats, and historical rooms.
