Nature and the Huevo de Colón in the Parque de San Jerónimo

Located at the northern end of the city, on the banks of the Guadalquivir meander, the Parque de San Jerónimo is an ideal green space to get away from the hustle and bustle of the urban center. Designed following the conditioning works for Expo 92, it connects directly with the Parque del Alamillo via a pedestrian bridge and stands out for its large wooded areas, cycling paths, and grass lawns.

The great monumental attraction of the park is the famous Monumento al Nacimiento del Hombre Nuevo, popularly known throughout Seville as 'El Huevo de Colón'. Designed by the Russian sculptor Zurab Tsereteli and donated by the Moscow City Council in 1995, it is the largest bronze sculpture in Spain at 32 meters high, representing a large ovoid structure that guards the statue of the discoverer inside.

The park has free admission and is open every day from 08:00 to 22:00 h. It is an ideal plan for traveling on foot or by bicycle, with recreation areas and abundant shade that guarantee a pleasant walk at any time of the morning or afternoon.
