Derbi de Ramos Derby
The musical and theatrical comedy Derbi de Ramos, created by José Manuel Rodríguez and Alberto Maldonado, presents one of the most outlandish situations in the traditional Sevillian imaginary. The plot is set on a hypothetical day when three massive milestones coincide: a football derby between Real Betis and Sevilla FC, the emotional Palm Sunday (Domingo de Ramos), and a general election. This production is performed at the Cartuja Center CITE auditorium.
Throughout the play, two passionate characters are forced to share experiences amidst organizational, sentimental, and political chaos. The script interweaves local humor, processional marches, football chants, and electoral satire, allowing the audience to identify with the city's contradictions and festive spirit through theater and musical performance.
Performances are scheduled between October 9, 2026, and December 5, 2026, with the usual showtime at 21:00h. It is advisable to book in advance given the popularity this show usually attracts.
