Renaissance art and architecture at the Casa de los Pinelo

Located on the historic Calle Abades, the Casa de los Pinelo is a medieval and Renaissance mansion-palace built at the beginning of the 16th century by the canon Diego Pinelo. It currently serves as the official headquarters of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Santa Isabel de Hungría and the Real Academia de Buenas Letras, constituting a heritage treasure in the Santa Cruz neighborhood.

The building organizes its space around a beautiful Renaissance courtyard with marble arches, Plateresque plasterwork, and period Triana ceramic tiles. Inside, it preserves noble rooms with coffered wooden ceilings and an outstanding art gallery with works by Sevillian painters such as Gonzalo Bilbao or García Ramos, in addition to a unique collection of oriental art.

A regular visit to its rooms and collections costs 5€, with free access to the main courtyard also offered from Monday to Friday in the morning hours.
