Visit to the Colección Museográfica de Gilena y Arqueódromo

The Colección Museográfica de Gilena is a pioneering public institution that combines archaeology, contemporary art, and experimental historical reconstruction. The space stands out for its sustainable museographic design and its commitment to cultural anthropology, housing unique pieces found in the municipality from the Copper Age to the Visigothic era.

Visitors walk through two complementary itineraries: a large room dedicated to local painter Francisco Maireles Vela and an interactive archaeological tour with original pieces. In addition, the visit includes the Arqueódromo Campo de Marte, an open-air replica of historical infrastructure. Access has a symbolic price of 1€, and it is free for children under 10 years old. The venue is usually open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00h to 13:00h.

The museum is located in the upper part of the town and has parking nearby. The use of comfortable footwear is recommended if you wish to walk thoroughly through the open-air replicas of the enclosure.
