Monumental Visit to the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Loreto
The Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Loreto constitutes a relevant monumental and Franciscan complex declared a Property of Cultural Interest. Its origins date back to the 14th century and the site highlights the Torre Mocha, a medieval defensive fortress prior to the monastery, next to an impressive Baroque-style church built between 1716 and 1732.
During the tour of the complex, you can admire the sober cloistered courtyards, the imagery of the main temple, and the rooms with exhibitions of sacred embroidery and historical items treasured by the Franciscan friars over centuries.
The sanctuary offers free entry (with the option of a donation) and is located in the town of Espartinas, about 12 minutes by car from Mairena del Aljarafe via the A-8076. It can be visited daily in the morning and afternoon hours.
