Visit to the Capilla de Belén
The Capilla de Belén is a rectangular-plan temple built in the first quarter of the 18th century in the upper part of the urban area of Lebrija. After having gone through periods of deterioration, its comprehensive restoration recovered a religious space full of popular fervor that houses the historic Ecce-Homo corporation.
Crossing its doors, you can admire the wooden 'artesa' framework that covers the central nave, as well as the barrel vault of the presbytery. The main altarpiece guards the venerated image of the Ecce-Homo, flanked by sober ornamentation and examples of local sacred craftsmanship.
The chapel has free admission and remains open during weekday mornings and at times set for the brotherhood's devotional exercises.
