Tour of the Callejón de las Monjas
The Callejón de las Monjas is one of the most picturesque, evocative, and legend-filled corners of the traditional streets of Lebrija. Characterized by its conventual link arches and the careful whitewashing of its walls, this pedestrian passage transports you directly to the atmosphere of enclosure and conventual architecture of the 16th and 17th centuries.
Walking along this section allows you to appreciate very unique popular construction solutions, in addition to evoking local stories and legends rooted in the collective memory of the neighborhood. It is the perfect setting to observe the subtlety of the architecture of the time and the silence that envelops the surroundings of the Monasterio de la Purísima Concepción.
Access is completely free as it is a public pedestrian walkway open all year round. It is recommended to walk through it paying attention to the heritage details and commemorative plaques that dot the ground and the walls.
