Gastronomic and Tapas Walk through the Mercado de Abastos

The Mercado de Abastos de Écija is the true gastronomic and social heart of the city, a daily meeting point where local products from the Campiña are sold in an authentic and vibrant atmosphere. Far from purely monumental circuits, this space allows you to immerse yourself in the daily life of the locals and discover the richness of the local garden and the livestock of the region.

Throughout the traditional stalls and small bars integrated into the market environment, visitors can taste homemade specialties, local cured meats, extra virgin olive oils with denomination of origin, and traditional tapas prepared with lifelong recipes. It is a first-rate sensory experience to understand the product-based cuisine of the area.

Access to the market is free and it remains open during the mornings from Monday to Saturday. The prices of drinks and tapas vary according to each stall, generally hovering between 2€ and 4€ per tapa. It is recommended to visit from 11:00 in the morning to experience the moment of greatest commercial activity and freshness at the counters.
