Visit to the Monumento al Sagrado Corazón and its viewpoint
The Monumento al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús has presided over the hill of San Juan de Aznalfarache since the mid-20th century. Access to the outer enclosure and its plaza is free of charge. It is an imposing neo-Mudéjar and Baroque architectural complex designed by the architect Javier González de Riancho.
The itinerary includes the large monumental esplanade crowned by a bronze statue of Jesus, the decorative porticos, and a terrace viewpoint that offers clear panoramic views over the Guadalquivir valley and Seville. It opens to the public with daily morning and afternoon hours.
It is recommended to go at the end of the afternoon to contemplate the panoramic view at sunset. It is possible to access by car or by using the metro elevator at the San Juan Bajo station.
