Historical Visit to the Hospital de la Santa Resurrección

Popularly known among neighbors as "El Hospitalito," the Hospital de la Santa Resurrección is one of the oldest welfare institutions in Europe in uninterrupted operation since its foundation in 1514. This charitable complex preserves prominent Renaissance and Baroque architecture in the city center.

During the visit, you can tour its serene main arcaded courtyard, admire the hospital church adorned with Baroque altarpieces, and contemplate an interesting heritage of sacred painting and historical artifacts. The guided access has a fee of €3 which contributes to the support of the charitable work.

The usual opening hours of the church and its visitable areas are during the morning shift, with the soft light before noon being the best time to appreciate the arches of its inner courtyard.
