Medieval Market and Silk Fair Reenactment
The Feria de la Seda de Los Molares is a rigorous historical reenactment that commemorates the famous cloth and fabric fair granted by Henry IV of Castile in 1465. During the first weekend of October, the municipality's medieval fortress and its surrounding streets are decked out to travel back to the 15th century, when the town attracted fabric, silk, and spice merchants from all over Andalusia.
The public will find an atmospheric period market with dozens of artisan stalls, falconry exhibitions, live music, and theatrical performances such as the figure of Baltasar del Alcázar, who was the castle's sheriff. Admission to the venue and the parades is free, being one of the most popular cultural and family events in the region between 11:00h and nightfall.
The journey from Utrera is very short, just 10 minutes along the A-375 road. It is highly recommended to park at the entrance of the town and walk to the castle square, as well as to wear comfortable footwear to tour the medieval craft and gastronomy stalls.
