Sacred art collection at the Museo Hospital del Pozo Santo

Founded in 1667 by the Franciscan Tertiary nuns in the peaceful Plaza del Pozo Santo, the Hospital del Pozo Santo is a care center and a heritage treasure semi-unknown to many Sevillians. Its small church and conventual quarters house a remarkable collection of sacred art accumulated over more than three centuries of care history for elderly and disabled women.

The museum space displays pictorial jewels of enormous value, among which the complete series of ten archangels attributed to the workshop of Francisco de Zurbarán stands out exceptionally. In addition, you can contemplate the iconic canvas portraying the horrors of the 1649 plague epidemic in Seville, valuable Baroque goldsmithing, and the sumptuous carved and gilded Rococo bed of the Virgen del Tránsito.

The visit has a price of 3€ and takes place from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 17:00 to 19:00. Given that the center continues to function as a convent residence, it is essential to request a prior reservation by phone before coming.
