Heritage Visit to the Parish of Ntra. Sra. de la Estrella

The Iglesia Parroquial de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación is the main historical monument of the urban area of Bormujos. Founded at the end of the Middle Ages, it was widely reformed in the 17th century to adopt a basilica plan with three naves.

Inside, it holds altarpieces of carved and gilded wood from the 17th and 18th centuries, among which stands out the high altar presided over by the image of the patron saint and the chapel dedicated to Saint Sebastian and passion imagery.

It is located in the Plaza de la Iglesia in Bormujos, 8 minutes by car from Mairena. Admission is free and the visit can be made during opening hours from Tuesday to Sunday before the usual services.
