Visit to the Gothic-Mudéjar Hermitage of San Juan Bautista

Located on the top of the Cerro de la Ermita, the Ermita de San Juan Bautista is the oldest temple preserved in Coria del Río. Built at the end of the 15th century, it combines elements of the Andalusian Gothic and Mudéjar style in a privileged location overlooking the Guadalquivir River.

Its interior houses simple pointed brick arches and a valuable wooden frame structure in the ceiling. Outside, the viewpoint that surrounds the temple offers panoramic views of the river channel and the orchards of the valley.

Admission is with free access during opening hours before services. It is about 12 minutes by car from Mairena del Aljarafe taking the A-8058 road.
