Monumental visit to the Parroquia de Santa María de la Mesa

Dominating the Utrera skyline with its towering Renaissance tower, the Parroquia de Santa María de la Mesa is a jewel of the late Gothic and Sevillian Renaissance. The temple impresses with the dimensions of its central nave, the richness of its main altarpiece, and the bell ensemble, whose manual chiming in a pendulum movement is declared Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

The interior houses noble chapels decorated with Baroque altarpieces, canvases from Sevillian schools, and a notable collection of liturgical goldsmithing. During the summer, the ashlar walls of the parish offer a cool and monumental refuge in the heart of the historic center.
