Visit to the Capilla de San Francisco
Built in the 17th century, the Capilla de San Bartolomé is an outstanding Utrera Baroque temple that houses the historic headquarters of the Hermandad de Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno. Its interior guards an important Baroque heritage, gilded altarpieces, and valuable processional imagery.
On its altar, the well-known Baroque carving of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno, carved by the sculptor Marcos de Cabrera in 1597, as well as the devout image of Nuestra Señora de las Angustias, stand out. The chapel also preserves historical tiles, canvases, and pieces of goldsmithing of great devotional value.
The temple is located on calle San Juan Bosco and offers free entry for the faithful and visitors. It remains open for visits in the morning from 10:00 to 13:00 and in the afternoons from 18:30 to 20:30.
