Solemn Novena to Our Lady of Consolación
The Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Consolación hosts the start of the Solemn Novena in honor of the city's patron saint, a liturgical and cultural cycle of deep roots that precedes the patron saint festivities of the month of September. During nine days, the temple receives thousands of people from Utrera and pilgrims who come to venerate the historic 14th-century Marian carving.
The main services take place in both morning and afternoon schedules, highlighting the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the preaching by prominent sacred orators, and traditional chants to the Virgin of Consolación. The surroundings of the sanctuary and its historic grove begin to don their finest attire for the pre-fair.
Access to all liturgical celebrations is free admission until the sanctuary's capacity is full. The main afternoon service begins at 20:00h with the prayer of the Holy Rosary and subsequent Eucharist.
