Festivity and Day of Nuestra Señora de Consolación

The Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Consolación is the great devotional and historical temple of Utrera. Declared a Historical-Artistic Monument, this building erected in the early 17th century over an old convent of the Minims Friars historically housed one of the most massive pilgrimages in all of Andalusia.

Inside, there is an extraordinary Mudejar wooden coffered ceiling, a monumental Baroque main altarpiece replaced in the 18th century, and the alcove with the small and venerated image of the Virgin of Consolación. During the visit, you can also admire the collection of Baroque tiles and the ex-votos that testify to centuries of pilgrimage.

The temple has free admission and remains open in the morning and afternoon. It is an ideal plan to discover the history, sacred architecture, and Utreran cultural identity in a quiet environment surrounded by the gardens of the promenade.
