Patronal Festivals and Worship of the Virgen de Consolación
The Patronal Festivals in honor of Nuestra Señora de Consolación represent the most popular festive and religious event on Osuna's summer calendar. Devotion to the patron saint and honorary mayor of the town dates back to the 16th century, when the image arrived in the town brought from England by the IV Count of Ureña. The festive cycle starts at the end of August with the novena and culminates on the Virgin's name day.
On September 8, 2026, the big day is celebrated with the Principal Institute Function and the traditional procession of the patron saint through the decorated streets of the historic center. The cortege departs from the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Consolación at 20:30, accompanied by brotherhoods, local authorities, and the municipal band. Attendance at the ceremonies and the processional route is free admission.
To witness the departure from the temple or the passage of the Virgin through the surroundings of the Consolación neighborhood, it is advisable to arrive at least half an hour in advance due to the large influx of public.
