Solemn Kissing of the Hand of the Virgen de Valme

The Solemn Kissing of the Hand of the Virgen de Valme is one of the most intimate and highly anticipated religious and devotional acts during the days leading up to the great Dos Hermanas pilgrimage. During the Saturday before the third Sunday of October, the venerated patron image of Dos Hermanas descends from her altar to be closer to the faithful.

The event takes place at the Parroquia de Santa María Magdalena from 09:00h until night continuously. Throughout the day, thousands of residents and visitors pass before the Virgin to pay their respects, make floral offerings, and contemplate the richness of her historical cloaks and belongings up close. Access is free for all attendees.

The central hours of the morning usually have long queues, so the first hours after opening or the early afternoon stretch are quieter times for a visit.
