Real Parroquia de Santa María Magdalena

The Parroquia de Santa María Magdalena is the most emblematic religious temple with the greatest historical value in the old town, presided over by its location in the Plaza de la Constitución. The current building, with a significant remodeling in the 18th century, represents the historical core of local urban life.

Its interior houses a rich Baroque heritage in which the main altarpiece stands out, carved with delicacy by masters of the Seville school, as well as a valuable collection of processional imagery, sacred goldsmithing, and mural paintings. Also noteworthy are its side chapels dedicated to the main Nazarene devotions.

Access to the temple is free with free admission, and it is recommended to visit outside of the times dedicated to regular religious worship. Its strategic position in the central Plaza de la Constitución allows the visit to be integrated into any walking route through the urban core.
