Visit to the Roman Bridge of the Five Eyes and the Via Augusta

Descending outside the walls from the Puerta de Córdoba is the iconic section of the Vía Augusta and the Roman Bridge, traced in the 1st century BC during the imperial era. This infrastructure of engineering spanned the stream of the Picada and constituted the main route of entry to the ancient *Carmo* for travelers coming from Corduba.

The site allows you to walk on the large stone slabs of the original Roman road and contemplate the structure of the bridge, supported by five semicircular arches renovated in the medieval era. It is an ideal enclave to understand the external defensive system of the walls and enjoy the natural landscape at the foot of the Carmona cliff.

The visit to this open-air archaeological site is totally free access at any time of the day. For the visit, it is recommended to follow the marked path that starts 900 meters from the Puerta de Córdoba, taking advantage of the morning or sunset hours.
