Visit to the Antonio Mairena Flamenco Art House
Just 12 minutes by car from Carmona, in the neighboring town of Mairena del Alcor, is the Casa del Arte Flamenco Antonio Mairena. This museum space and social headquarters is dedicated entirely to safeguarding and disseminating the figure of the legendary flamenco singer Antonio Mairena, Honor Prize of Flamenco Singing.
In its exhibition halls, the visitor can contemplate personal objects, original discography, stage trophies, clothing, manuscripts, and the historic Golden Key of Flamenco ('Llave de Oro del Cante') granted to the artist in 1962. The institution also programs singing and guitar recitals in its traditional courtyard.
General admission is priced at €2 and the center is open Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:30. It is located at Calle Arrabal nº 21 in Mairena del Alcor.
