Visit to the Old Church of Santa Ana
The Antigua Iglesia de Santa Ana is the only nave preserved from the former Convento de Santo Domingo, erected in 1501 outside the city walls. After decades of disuse, a meticulous rehabilitation by the Carmona City Council has recovered this Mudejar and Renaissance monument to convert it into a municipal socio-cultural and congress center.
The interior presents a Latin cross floor plan with barrel vaults, lunettes, and a large dome in the crossing with Baroque details added in the 18th century. The rooms and the main nave periodically host temporary art exhibitions, historical dissemination conferences, and musical recitals promoted by the city council.
Access to the premises to participate in its events or visit the exhibitions is free admission, usually operating Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 14:00. It is located at Calle Santa Ana nº 39.
