Tour of the Archaeological Site of the Roman Necropolis

The Conjunto Arqueológico de Carmona is one of the most important Roman sites in Andalusia. Discovered at the end of the 19th century by George Bonsor, it houses a funerary complex carved into the rock with burial mounds from the 1st century B.C.

Standing out in the tour is the Tumba de Servilia, an underground funerary mansion with arches, as well as the Tumba del Elefante, dedicated to oriental mystery cults. The interpretation center also exhibits votive stelae and grave goods of incalculable historical value.

The visit has free admission for EU citizens (1.50€ for other visitors). The site is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00h to 15:00h. It is advised to wear comfortable footwear for walking on the rock of the archaeological trails.
