Visit and viewpoint of the Sagrado Corazón Monumental Complex

The Recinto Monumental al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús is an imposing Neo-Baroque and Neo-Mudéjar architectural complex designed in 1940 by the architect Aurelio Gómez Millán on the hill of San Juan de Aznalfarache. Presided over by a large monument-tower with a sculpture of Jesus in white marble by José Lafita, this enclave dominates the horizon of the Guadalquivir course.

The complex is articulated around a large porticoed square open to the river of 75 meters in diameter, inspired by the shapes of St. Peter's in the Vatican, surrounded by the Chapel of Cristo del Perdón, the Salesas convent, and the votive crypt. The hillside houses landscaped terraces with stairways and ramped paths that ascend from the Barrio Bajo to the upper viewpoint.

The visit to the exteriors and the viewpoint has Free admission and can be done from Monday to Sunday with opening hours from 09:00 to 20:00. It is recommended to go up to the porticoed square to contemplate the magnificent panoramic views of the Guadalquivir valley, being convenient to wear comfortable shoes to navigate the slopes.
