Visit to the Casa Palacio de Hernán Cortés

The Casa Palacio de Hernán Cortés is a fortified building in the Neo-Mudéjar style located on the central Calle Real of Castilleja de la Cuesta. In this 16th-century property, the conquistador Hernán Cortés spent his last years and passed away in 1547. In the mid-19th century, the property was acquired and renovated by the Dukes of Montpensier as their summer mansion.

The building, which houses the headquarters of the Religiosas Irlandesas school, preserves rooms with a museum exhibition of Hernán Cortés endowed with tombstones and mementos of his figure. The fortification stands out for its crenelated brick walls and its historic Neo-Mudéjar gardens, where an atmosphere charged with royal and noble history is breathed.

The visit to the historical areas offers Free admission with prior reservation and is subject to the schedules agreed with the educational center.
