Route of the flour mills of the Guadaíra

The banks of the Guadaíra River house a valuable legacy of industrial archaeology in the form of ancient medieval and modern flour mills, silent witnesses to the economic splendor linked to water and cereal in the area. This heritage itinerary allows you to travel along the riverbed discovering historical buildings such as the Molino del Algarrobo or the celebrated area of Benadares.

During the walk, informative panels and the architectural structure of the hydraulic machines themselves explain to the visitor how the force of the water was used to grind the wheat that subsequently fed the famous local bakeries. The contrast between the centuries-old stone of the mill ruins and the lush riverside vegetation creates images of great visual and ethnographic value.

The itinerary runs along compacted dirt paths and pedestrian walkways perfectly integrated into the Parque Natural Riberas del Guadaíra. It is recommended to bring comfortable clothing, sunscreen, and a camera to immortalize the most picturesque corners next to the river's waterfalls.
