Visit to the Mudejar Thematic Center

Located in the heart of the San Felipe neighborhood, the Centro Temático del Mudéjar occupies a manor house-palace from the 16th century built on medieval remains. This museum space of the Carmona City Council is dedicated to disseminating how the Andalusian technique and aesthetic permeated the city's buildings after the reconquest, creating its own architectural style.

The property is organized around a unique porticoed courtyard with semicircular arches on octagonal brick pillars. During its restoration, valuable 15th and 16th-century wall paintings were brought to light, among which a charcoal graffiti featuring a military ship and armed soldiers stands out, in addition to rooms with models, tiling, and pieces of daily medieval life.

General admission costs €2 (free for those registered in Carmona) and the center is usually open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 14:00. Access is via the emblematic Calle Ancha, in the heart of the historic center.
