Exhibition of the traditional Mexican Altar de Muertos

The Museo de la Ciudad de Carmona hosts during the last days of the month the exhibition of the Altar de Muertos Mexicano, an ethnographic display that brings the colorful significance of the Day of the Dead, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, to the Andalusian public.

Visitors can admire starting at 11:00h a large installation decorated with tissue paper (papel picado), cempasúchil flowers, sugar skulls, and traditional offerings. The exhibition offers explanations about the cultural synergy between pre-Hispanic traditions and Hispanic customs.
