XXXIII National Cante Flamenco Contest 'Soleá de Alcalá'
The emblematic Peña Flamenca Soleá de Alcalá hosts a new edition of the National Cante Flamenco Contest Soleá de Alcalá, one of the oldest and most rigorous cante jondo competitions in Spain. The activity offers free admission until capacity is reached during all its selection rounds and the grand final in November, becoming the meeting point par excellence for lovers of local tradition.
The sessions are held every weekend at 20:00h at the peña's premises. In them, singers from all over the country compete by performing the genuine style of the soleá alcalareña, as well as other basic flamenco palos, under the judgment of an expert jury and with live guitar accompaniment.
The space is located on Calle José García Alcalareño. It is advisable to arrive with some time to spare before the start time to ensure a seat in the hall.
