Ruta de los Molinos Harineros fluviales

Hidden beneath the ground of the historic center lies one of the most unique hydraulic engineering treasures in Andalusia. The Molino de la Mina is the only underground flour mill preserved in the region, built directly under the current Plaza del Duque to take advantage of the underground aquifer currents that historically supplied the population.

During the tour, you descend into galleries excavated in the 'albero' rock to contemplate the vault of the milling room, the water wheel, and the channels through which the water flowed. As it is an underground space with restricted capacity, the activity is conducted with a guided option of Free upon reservation at the Tourism Office.
