Monumental walk through the Puente del Dragón and its surroundings
The Puente del Dragón is one of the most unique and photographed urban infrastructures in Alcalá de Guadaíra, famous for being the first bridge in Europe with the sculptural shape of a dragon inspired by the modernist style of Gaudí. This footbridge crosses the riverbed, connecting different expansion areas of the town.
Walking across it, you will find a ceramic skin covered in colorful trencadís mosaics and scales that change shade according to the sunlight, guarded by the imposing silhouette that watches over the river landscape. It has become a true contemporary icon of Andalusian civil architecture.
Access is free 24 hours a day, and it is especially recommended to visit it at sunset to contemplate the lighting and the chromatic contrast over the natural environment.
